Biography

Wang Tong, MD, Deputy Chief Physician, Associate Professor, Master's Supervisor at Peking Union Medical College, and holder of dual attending physician licenses in Ophthalmology and Otorhinolaryngology, and in Aesthetic Surgery. He currently serves as Director of the ENT Center at the Plastic Surgery Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and formerly served as Deputy Director of the Department of Rhinology at Beijing Tongren Hospital.
He specializes in various minimally invasive functional rhinoplasties, scarless endonasal preservation rhinoplasty, functional and aesthetic septoplasty, secondary revision of various complex rhinoplasties, implant-free endonasal dorsal preservation rhinoplasty for deviated nose, dorsal hump, and hooked nose, repair of nasal and facial trauma and nasal bone, scarless internal-incision upper lip and philtrum reshaping and nostril, alar, and nasal base reshaping, 3D-printed facial bone tissue augmentation (brow ridge, forehead, and chin), endoscopic nasal surgery for various complex lesions, minimally invasive treatment of snoring, and comprehensive facial and cervical rejuvenation.
He serves as Vice Chairman of the Youth Committee of Otorhinolaryngology, Beijing Medical Association; Member of the Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery Group, Otorhinolaryngology Branch, Chinese Medical Doctor Association; Member of the Aesthetic Branch, China International Exchange and Promotive Association for Medical and Health Care; Secretary-General of the Otorhinolaryngology Professional Committee, China Association of Medical Equipment; and Review Expert at the Center for Medical Device Evaluation, National Medical Products Administration. He was a Beijing Science and Technology New Star in 2008; in 2009, his research project on the diagnosis and treatment of snoring won the Second Prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award from the Ministry of Science and Technology; in 2013, the complex sinus endoscopic surgical technique won the Second Prize of the Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award. He was a Visiting Scholar at the University of Sydney in 2013 and a Yiqilin Outstanding Talent in 2021.
He has led and participated in the establishment of the Otorhinolaryngology Engineering Technology Center of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission and the Artificial Auditory Engineering Technology Center of the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission. He has participated in major projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology and in multiple national and provincial-level research projects. As first author and corresponding author, he has published more than 20 papers in core journals and SCI-indexed journals. He has participated in the compilation of more than 10 domestic books. He holds 10 patents, including 2 national invention patents.
